October 21, 2008 - Travel Mole: Seven Nations Are Set to Join The US Waiver Visa Program
travel_mole_logo.final.jpgTRAVEL MOLE (10/21/2008)-- Citizens from South Korea and six European nations will be able to travel to the US for short-term business or tourism without a visa in a month's time, President Bush says.

The Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and South Korea will be added to the U.S. Visa Waiver Program on November 13. The program allows their citizens to travel to the United States for stays up to 90 days without first obtaining a visa.

Air 4casts Online: US PASSENGER NUMBERS NOSEDIVE IN SEPTEMBER
air_4casts_online.jpgAIR 4CASTS ONLINE (10/09/2008)-- SEPTEMBER US PASSENGER NUMBERS DOWN ALMOST 9%   US airlines representing just under half of the expected monthly traffic have announced an almost 9% decline in September passengers.

For these airlines, the most recent revelations come after a 4% drop in their August numbers and almost certainly indicate the direction for the last quarter of this year. That direction will be towards further capacity reductions, the first signs of which were emerging last month.

USA Today: U.S. adds 7 countries to Visa Waiver Program
usatoday.jpgROGER YU, USA TODAY (11/17/2008)-- Amid a downturn in global tourism, a new U.S. travel rule is triggering optimism in the industry for more inbound visitors from several countries.

The federal government will expand its Visa Waiver Program Monday to include South Korea and six Eastern European countries — Hungary, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Slovak Republic.
